My theory about the media's coverage of criticism of the Harry Potter books and efforts to promote strict theories of creationism is that they are two of the most stupid arguments put forward by Christians. Hiding behind "the media's duty to cover all sides of an issue," the media is covering all sides of those issues on which the "Christian" perspective is backward or uninformed, while failing to provide balanced reporting on those issues on which Christian perspectives are more nuanced, challenging, and important.
