RACISM - ABC 7 - Germantown Woman Suing Kinko's for Racism Germantown, Md. (AP) - A black woman from Germantown is suing Kinko's for racial discrimination. Kelina Baltimore-Clark's $3 million lawsuit in Greenbelt names the company and former employee Barbara Stevenson.
Baltimore-Clark says she was deprived of her equal rights April 11th when she went to the Germantown store to make business ads. The fliers featuring photos of black women were printed on pink paper.
According to the suit, Stevenson said aloud that "black people don't look right on pink paper," drawing a few laughs from white customers in the store.
Baltimore-Clark says she was humiliated. Her lawyer says his client received a letter from Kinko's in June apologizing for the remark and that Stevenson didn't mean to be offensive.
